How to care for your carving:

Some minor checking might appear in your carving this is natural and unavoidable some people feel it actually adds character to the piece. The major cause of severe cracking is drying too fast, to avoid this place your carving in a shaded area not in the direct sun, keep it slightly elevated off the ground to allow air to circulate, small stones can be used for elevation. Never place you carving indoors near a heat source such as a wood stove, baseboard heat, etc. If your carving is placed outdoors we recommend you seal the carving once a year with a exterior penetrating natural color finish.
